Hey everyone, Well, it is almost that time of year again, the Australian Fly, Lure, and Outdoor Expo in Ipswich Qld.
I know, like many other lure makers, we are flat out here. Trying to finish up any orders we have received, as well as get lures ready for the expo. This means that we have had to stop taking orders on the website. Sorry if this is an inconvenience to any of our customers. But the shop will be open again, as soon as possible.
Well, it is only about 4 weeks to go, and true to form, I get bored with all the repetitiveness. So I start tinkering and playing with new designs! I know you all will be excited to hear that I have not one, but TWO new designs that I am releasing this year at the Expo.
We have a lot of customers, who have been requesting salt water lures for quite some time. So, we have finally given them what they have been asking for. 🙂 We are releasing a handmade timber lure, designed for those saltwater game fish.
The other new release is a deep bodied diver. I am really excited about this one. I am not going to spoil the surprise, and you will have to wait a few more weeks to see them.
On top of these creations, I have made a collectable lure, in limited numbers. This year, it is the angler fish from our logo, Aloysius the Angler Fish. I had “fun” trying to make the fronds on top of Aloysius’ head. But, the finished product is Awesome!
I am really looking forward to this year’s expo. Fitzy and all the team do such an amazing job organising a great event for all of us Aussie lure lovers!
If you are heading to the expo, come and say hi! We will be doing demonstrations on turning timber lures on the lathe again.
ALSO, don’t forget to go see the guys from Fishing Monthly, and get your subscription. As usual, FMG is doing a special collectors lure for the first 40 people to subscribe, but ONLY AT THE EXPO. And, I might personally know the lure maker that has been asked to make this years very exclusive collectors lure for them! 😉 It will be a special Rattlesnake Walker, in the Fishing Monthly colours. Don’t miss out!
Hope to see you all there!
